This blog is an initiative of UWS arts students to protest the decision on the part of the University's College of Arts/School of Communication Arts to axe three of its key arts programs: Fine Arts, Electronic Arts and Performance. A Bachelor of Contemporary Arts has been planned to replace Fine Arts and Electronic Arts, and according to Head of School, Associate Professor Lynette Sheridan Burns: "student intake has been approved by the UWS Course Approvals and Articulations Committee and will be introduced in 2008." Performance, however, is not being reinstated in any form. Please send us leads, links, info and stories relating to this situation and we will post on your behalf. If you are an artist or performer who studies or studied arts at UWS, your support would be especially appreciated. Spread the word and let your network know what is going down at UWS. other artists you might want to whack up on the front page on the list of alumini and ex/current teaching staff who have had a significant association with the artschool over the years - people need to see the legacy -hey, and its free marketing for the un(irony in that one)

Thankyou for the list, we will do our best to put up as many folks associated with UWS as possible, if anyone knows links to websites please let us know in order to make this process faster.
Dont worry about links just get em up there...yes definetely, Dysfunctional Feed is a good one to add. What about there names as individuals.
I would add Stephen Mori as well, a consistent supporter and someone who often ran a group show after the grad show, in his commercial gallery space - a very generous thing to do.

We have started adding the links in list above into staff (past and present section) and artist links (with connection to UWS)apologies if some names are in incorrect section, as some of the names we are unsure of the exact connection, if you know let us know. We will keep adding names slowly but surely.
Meanwhile this is a great opportunity to recognise individuals that have been part of the UWS history this far.

A small but important clarification. Dysfeed are Z for real but not exclusively made up of UWS students. There's a couple of COFA mob as well. Those guys rock, although i rekkon they secretly wish they went to Z ;)
Tim Burns might actually be the Tim Burns maverick filmmaker who did a residency at UWS fine arts eons ago, although Tim Burns TAs is a very fine painter indeed.
Amongst many things WA Tim Burns is famous for is the blowing up of a television in a public lecture at an artschool - his broadcast of sideways television on community tv and now I heard he is growing plants under pyramids using his own shit as fertiliser on his property outside of perth.Sorry
