There is nothing equivocal about Dancing on the Grave, a graduation performance choreographed by Elizabeth Cameron Dalman, the head of dance at the University of Western Sydney.
In the closing sequence, a group of 19 black-clad dancers reach for the sky with hopeful faces, before falling to the ground like corpses.
The dancers are the final graduating class from NSW's only performance-oriented dance course, which has been axed after 19 years.
